extra-thin cord is prone to tangling, and the slightly smaller form means they can be placed into the ear half-way, which will make the sound sub-par, but if placed into the ear with care (they go a touch deeper than normal earbuds) they protrude so little that I often wear mine while asleep, and I am a side-sleeper who can't wear earrings or anything else on the "pillow side" of my head. With the right size silicone piece (as with other sony products, multiple sizes come with) and a gentle shove, they cancel noise enough that the weaker volume does not matter. No on-cord volume control, but they are cute, and have lasted longer than some of my more expensive sony earbuds.
